Congratulations are in order for Yorba Linda High School’s varsity football team for being crowned the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Champions! The Mustangs defeated Upland High School on Friday, November 25 to earn the top title in their division.
With this victory, YLHS advanced to the CIF State Semifinals game against Liberty High School (Bakersfield) on December 3 in Nathan Shapell Memorial Stadium. Although they lost 41-28, the team has much to be proud of following their impressive season.
Under the direction of Head Coach Jeff Bailey, the Mustangs have excelled on the field in the last few years with a 14-1 overall record this school year and a 10-1 record during the 2021-2022 school year. In 2016, they earned the CIF Southern Section Champion title in Division 8 and were dubbed Crestview League Champions in 2019, 2021, and 2022. Way to go, Mustangs!
