This December, Mrs. Figlio taught Mrs. Peterson’s 2nd graders at Lakeview Elementary School all about where water is found in various landscapes. Students were able to model what happens to water as it follows the natural terrain and how it flows downhill.
Utilizing the district’s Twig Science curriculum, students have learned all about different landforms such as valleys, mountain ranges, plains, plateaus, and more. They have also learned about landscapes through building clay models and exploring different maps on Google Earth. They have even explored the journey of a river from start to end.
According to the school, the Lakeview Lions have loved the Twig Science program and all the hands-on learning they have done! They are looking forward to continuing their journey with the curriculum and all the fun experiences it offers.
