Brian Johnson, an art teacher at Valencia High School, will have his artwork featured at the MFA biennial showcase at the Brea Art Gallery. This event features the work of area Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) students.
Johnson, who is finishing his MFA at California State University, Fullerton, spent nearly 15 hours inside the gallery, panting a mural on an exhibit wall – not with a brush, but with mat board. He has another piece in the show – an immersive installation called “Space 44” that conjures images from his childhood.
See Brian’s art now through Friday, March 11. The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays at the Brea Civic and Cultural Center.
