Rio Vista Elementary School’s 4th & 5th-grade GOAL’s Hockey team, The Mighty Leopards, recently clenched their championship title for the second year in a row after defeating Ruby Drive Elementary School in the final game of the season! Ruby Drive students put up a great defense and showed strong effort throughout the game.
Rio Vista’s coaches are proud of all of the students who had a chance to participate in GOAL’s hockey this year, and they can’t wait to get back on the ice next year and welcome new players to the school’s hockey teams.
GOALS, which stands for Growth Opportunities through Athletics Learning and Service, and the district’s CASA program have provided the opportunity for hundreds of PYLUSD students to learn hockey since the early 2000s.
