On Wednesday, Sept. 9, Topaz Elementary School started its second year of fresh produce distributions courtesy of a collaboration with Orange County’s Second Harvest. The organization buys surplus produce from local farms, and distributes it to low-income areas through Orange County schools.
Topaz was lucky enough to receive this generous grant two years in a row. Additionally, Walgreens was on hand to give free flu shots to parents and children who attended. All parents left the food distribution with two or three very large bags of produce!
