On October 18, 2023, the CIF Hall of Fame welcomed Coach Gary Meek, the third Aztec to receive this prestigious honor. For 17 extraordinary years, from 1986 to 2003, he led Esperanza High School’s football team.
Coach Meek’s legacy shone brilliantly with CIF titles in 1990 and 1992, securing a remarkable 144 victories during his tenure. His impact extended beyond the field, imparting invaluable life lessons of perseverance and teamwork.
The Aztec community celebrated his well-deserved induction, recognizing him not just as a coach but as a symbol of dedication, leadership, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. Coach Meek’s story was an inspiration for generations to come.
