The Valencia High School SERVE (Social Emotional Recreation Vocation Education) Program, with the help from BITA (Building Industry Technology Academy), made a “Buddy Bench” for Melrose Elementary School.
The buddy bench is a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground. Students that see one of their peers sitting on the buddy bench can reach out and play with them during recess or lunchtime.
