Valencia High School senior Hannah Chu was recently selected as one of four Orange County recipients of the 2024 Edison International Scholarship! As a result of her efforts, Hannah will receive a $50,000 STEM scholarship to put toward her post secondary education.
Lorene Miller, the Vice President of Edison’s Customer Service Operation in Southern California, visited Valencia’s campus on Monday, March 26, to present Hannah with a check and an opportunity to apply for Edison’s summer internship program.
Hannah is a very involved student at Valencia, taking multiple AP courses and participating in orchestra during her senior year.
“Hannah has worked hard to achieve success during her years at VHS and this award is a testament to her pursuit of education,” Counselor Lyndsey Taylor shared.
The Edison Scholars Program recognizes students who want to be makers of tomorrow. Hannah’s scholarship is intended to help seniors follow their dreams in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) and empower them to change the world.
Way to go, Hannah!
