Valencia High School Unites Community with Annual AVID Family Tailgate and Dia de los Muertos Celebration

On Friday, November 1, Valencia High School (VHS) came alive with the vibrant spirit of community and tradition as it hosted its annual AVID Family Tailgate and Dia de los Muertos celebration. The event welcomed Future Tigers from Kraemer Middle School and Valadez Middle School Academy, who joined VHS AVID students, families, and staff for an evening filled with joy, camaraderie, and festive fall fun.

The celebration kicked off with a BBQ where students and families enjoyed hot dogs served up by VHS administration, adding a personal touch to the evening. Attendees of all ages enjoyed face painting, games, and live performances, adding to the excitement before the big football game. Together, they cheered on the Tigers under the iconic Friday night lights at Bradford Stadium, filling the stands with school spirit and pride.

The AVID Family Tailgate has become a beloved tradition at VHS, offering a unique opportunity for students, families, and future Tigers to come together, build connections, and celebrate the rich culture that makes VHS so special. It’s a memorable highlight of the fall semester, capturing the heart of the Tiger community and inspiring future generations of VHS students.
