Linda Vista Elementary School celebrated a meaningful and impactful Kindness Week and month, culminating on Friday, December 20, 2024, with a Kindness Assembly featuring Cooper White. This event powerfully connected students with the real-world effects of their kindness project, which began last year. It is inspiring to see how a simple idea, such as a penny war, evolved into a substantial contribution of over $6,000. Combined with the White family’s contribution, this effort led to the construction of a well in Uganda in collaboration with Hope4Kids International.
This initiative provided clean water to three villages and a school serving 635 students—a remarkable achievement that demonstrates how collaborative efforts within schools can drive meaningful global change. Additionally, Cooper’s mother visited Uganda and brought back gifts as a token of appreciation, further strengthening the connection between the two communities.
The message conveyed through a plaque presented by Mrs. White emphasized an important lesson: every child, no matter their age, has the potential to make a difference. This serves as a powerful reminder to students about the positive impact they can have on the world.
The Lions extends its gratitude to all the families and students who supported this initiative. Their generosity truly made a difference. Those interested can view the video Cooper shared with students, which reinforces the idea that young individuals can drive significant change.
