Annual STEAM Night at Linda Vista Elementary Provides an Opportunity for Critical Thinking Skills, Hands-on Experiences, and Collaboration

Annual STEM Night at Linda Vista Elementary

In the month of February, Linda Vista Elementary School held their Annual Family STEAM Night on their campus. The night serves of encouragement for student and families to learn and gain understanding of various technical disciplines.

Student volunteers from Valencia High School, El Dorado High School, and Esperanza High School were able to lead a wide-variety of activities for the families and students in attendance. Furthermore, the REACH Foundation showcased their coding and robotics program.

Families were also able to experience and work with pottery to create ceramics, with the assistance Mr. Jeff Picou, a ceramics teacher at El Dorado High School. In addition, students built straw rockets, captured green screen photos, worked on various math-centered games, practiced with Picasso Tiles to gain an understanding of engineering, interacted with a plasma ball lamp, and more.

It was a fun night filled with critical thinking skills, hands-on experiences, and collaboration. Linda Vista is looking forward to continuing this tradition of providing enriching opportunities at their next annual STEAM night.
