Valencia High School’s Building Industry Technology Academy (BITA) design-build team earned the highest distinction—the esteemed Craftsman’s Award—at the Annual Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) Design Build Competition held on April 9–10, 2025. This recognition marks a significant achievement, as the team not only outperformed 38 competing teams from across the region but also accomplished an impressive “three-peat,” having secured top honors in the competition for the third consecutive year.
The award-winning team, composed of seven seniors and three juniors—including one female student—demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and collaboration throughout the two-day event. Under the guidance of Construction Manager Jonathan Glesser and with a strong focus on safety led by Designated Safety Person Kaylee Lorenzo, the students showcased their technical abilities and adherence to industry standards.

The North Orange County Regional Occupational Program (ROP) expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishment.
