Rod Boaz is a 2025 Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Teacher of the Year! Rod serves as the video, film and sports broadcasting teacher at Valencia High School Academy in Placentia. This video recaps the day PYLUSD executive leadership members, along with the Presidents of the Association of Placentia-Linda Educators and California School Employees Association (CSEA), and his colleagues surprised him with the news.
“Rod is tirelessly optimistic and has been key in developing the image and reputation of Valencia High School – not just Val Tech and Tiger Tube, but through his innovation and his willingness to support all programs with promotional videos, broadcasts and features. He is asked to develop videos and features every day. He never says no.” shared Principal Chris Herzfeld. “Mr. Boaz developed a sports and event broadcasting program that has quickly become the example used in CIF, and instantly draws students and parents to want to be a part of the program.”
