On Thursday, June 12, Valencia High School (VHS) celebrated its commencement ceremony, honoring the Class of 2025. The event took place at Bradford Stadium, where 622 seniors were awarded their high school diplomas.
The graduating class featured a diverse and accomplished group of students, including 58 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma candidates, 172 recipients of the Val Tech diploma, 22 Cambridge diploma recipients, and 46 Dual IB or Cambrige and Val Tech diploma recipients.
The ceremony welcomed several distinguished guests, such as Board of Education President Marilyn Anderson, Vice President Carrie Buck and Trustee Tricia Quintero. Representatives from the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District included Assistant Superintendents Dr. Olivia Yaung, Executive Director, College & Career Readiness Dr. Will Gray, Director of Special Education Gwen Redira.
The commencement speeches were delivered by students Mahi Patel, Ashley Vicente-Crisostomo and Yoojun Evan Park. Their speeches reflected on cherished memories and expressed heartfelt gratitude towards VHS, their fellow graduates, and supportive loved ones.
After Trustee Quintero formally accepted the Class of 2025, acknowledging they had met all requirements for graduation, Principal Herzfeld extended his congratulations. He then instructed the graduates to move their tassels from right to left. The stadium erupted in cheers, and the newly graduated Tigers tossed their caps into the air, marking the joyous conclusion of their high school journey. Congratulations, Tigers!
