Yorba Linda High School Celebrates its Class of 2025

On Wednesday, June 11, Yorba Linda High School (YLHS) held its 2025 commencement ceremony at Nathan Shapell Memorial Stadium, where 331 Mustangs proudly received their high school diplomas.

The Class of 2025 accomplished an impressive list of achievements, including completing more than 32,000 hours of community service. Among the graduates were 81 recipients of the Seal of Biliteracy, 61 Career Technical Education (CTE) completers, 69 Mustang Scholars, 13 National Merit Scholars, and 26 students awarded the Seal of Civic Engagement. Additionally, four graduates have committed to serving in the military.

The ceremony was attended by several honored guests, including Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board of Education Vice President Carrie Buck and Trustee Leandra Blades, as well as Assistant Superintendent Renee Gray, Executive Director of College & Career Readiness Dr. Will Gray, Director of Secondary Education Mike Young, and Principal Dr. Bird Potter.

Student speakers Maya Tsegaye, Mylie Brown, Elyse Tran, and Annabella Gallegos delivered heartfelt messages of encouragement and appreciation to their fellow graduates. Valedictorian Camelia Adams and Salutatorian Kayla Seo were also recognized for their outstanding academic achievements.

Principal Dr. Bird Potter addressed the graduating class, sharing her pride in their accomplishments:
“Yorba Linda High School is a place where students create lasting memories and meaningful connections. The Class of 2025 has embraced every opportunity—building friendships, growing as individuals, and leaving a legacy of spirit and achievement.”
