El Dorado High School Celebrates its Class of 2025

El Dorado High School (EDHS) held its commencement ceremony on Wednesday, June 11, in Bradford Stadium. The Golden Hawk Class of 2025 included 431 graduating seniors, 87% of whom have committed to attending a two- or four-year college or university following graduation.

The ceremony featured honored guests such as Board of Education President Marilyn Anderson, Trustee Tricia Quintero, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Dr. Olivia Yaung, Executive Director Elementary Education Dr. Liz Leon, Assistant Director, State & Federal Programs Jose Cabrera, and Principal David Okamoto.

Senior Class President Joanne Liang, Ariana Kapoor and Nia Gille addressed their peers and the crowded stadium with words of reflection, wisdom, and inspiration, sharing their experiences as Golden Hawks.

Principal Okamoto also spoke to the graduates and attendees, stating, “To the class of 2,025 you will always be my first graduating class of high school students as Principal at El Dorado. I would like to personally thank each of you that welcomed me to “The Nest” this year. As you move on to whatever may be next for you, remember that the feeling of nerves are natural. I would encourage you to “Be You” as you move ahead to whatever is next! I am certain you will make us proud!”

Upon receiving their diplomas, the Golden Hawks tossed their caps into the air, signifying the end of their time in PYLUSD.

Notably, the EDHS Class of 2025 completed 29,936 community service hours. Additionally, 104 seniors completed a CTE Pathway, 13 earned the Seal of Civic Engagement, 9 graduated from the ED LAW Academy, and 67 from the Digital Media Arts Academy. Congratulations, Golden Hawks!
