PYLUSD Schools Shine in City of Placentia’s 60th Annual Heritage Festival Parade

On Saturday, October 11, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) proudly participated in the City of Placentia’s 60th annual Heritage Festival and Parade—a long-standing community tradition celebrating local pride and history.

District’s middle and high school marching bands, color guard teams, dance programs, and instrumental music units showcased their talents as they paraded down Kraemer Boulevard before an enthusiastic crowd of families, students, and community members. The El Dorado High School football team also joined the celebration, representing their school with pride following their recent victory in the annual “Bell Game.” Students from Venture Academy and George Key School also had the opportunity to “walk or roll” in the parade, demonstrating PYLUSD’s commitment to inclusivity and ensuring that every student, regardless of ability, can participate in meaningful community events.

Members of the PYLUSD Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Kym LeBlanc-Esparza were honored to participate in the parade, joining city leaders and community organizations in recognizing the spirit of collaboration that defines Placentia. The event served as a meaningful reminder of the district’s strong partnership with the City of Placentia and its shared commitment to fostering community engagement, student achievement, and civic pride.
