On Wednesday, January 14, the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce Foundation recognized Esperanza High School senior Farida Abbis as its November Student of the Month during a special surprise presentation on campus.
Esperanza High School Principal Kelly Molina praised Farida for her well-rounded involvement and leadership, noting that she serves the campus community through athletics, the arts, and academics. Farida is a varsity athlete in both flag football and track, has participated in the school’s band, choir, and theater programs, and is an AP Capstone candidate. In addition, she has completed 386 hours of community service through her participation in seven on-campus clubs and has founded her own nonprofit organization. Principal Molina shared that Farida is consistently positive, encouraging, and optimistic, making a meaningful impact across campus.
As part of the Foundation’s Student of the Month Program, Farida received a $100 scholarship presented by Foundation President Anthony Johnson, Treasurer Kevin McCobb, Board Member Lynn Campbell, and Executive Director Susan Wan-Ross. Each month, the program honors an outstanding local high school student who exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, and a strong commitment to community service.
Congratulations to Farida Abbis on this well-deserved recognition and for exemplifying the values of leadership, service, and excellence celebrated by Esperanza High School and the Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
