Yorba Linda City Council Recognizes REACH Foundation First Lego League Robotics Program

On Tuesday, February 3, the Yorba Linda City Council recognized local student leaders for exceptional achievements in robotics during its regularly scheduled meeting. Two Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) teams from The REACH Foundation’s FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Robotics Program were honored for advancing to international competitions after excelling among more than 550 teams across Southern California.

The teams recognized included Kraemer Middle School’s Control+Alt+Elite, which secured advancement to the World Championships in Houston, Texas, from April 29 to May 2, where students will compete against teams from 66 countries. Travis Ranch’s F.I.R.E. Sharks also earned international recognition after qualifying for the World Invitational in Ontario, Canada, scheduled for June 17–20.

City leaders commended the students for demonstrating dedication, resilience, and civic pride. These accomplishments reflect the strong partnership between students, coaches, schools, and The REACH Foundation in supporting high-quality STEAM learning experiences.
