At Wagner Elementary School, representatives from Old Grove Orange Farm provided students with an educational presentation on the origins of locally sourced produce served in school meals and hosted an on-site farmers market experience. Instruction focused on the nutritional benefits of a variety of fresh items, including radishes, kale, chard, carrots, citrus fruits, apples, and lemons. Following the presentation, students were given the opportunity to select produce to take home, reinforcing concepts of healthy eating and farm-to-school connections. The event was well-received and supported student engagement in nutrition education.
