On Tuesday, August 4, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Board of Education opened its regularly scheduled meeting with a special performance by students from the El Dorado High School Choral Music Program. Under the direction of Marlon Santizo, students performed “Thank You for the Music” by ABBA, a song featured in the hit musical and film Mamma Mia!
The performance followed El Dorado High School’s Junior High Choir Camp, held over the summer for students in grades 6 through 9. Throughout the camp, young singers came together for several days of music-making, learning, and connection. Students strengthened their vocal skills, explored new choral techniques, built friendships through team-building activities, and experienced the joy of performing together.
The Board meeting performance provided a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents and share the energy and enthusiasm of El Dorado’s choral program with the PYLUSD community.
