The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) has partnered with the Placentia Library District to expand student access to literacy resources through the library’s new Bookmobile. The partnership officially launched on September 1 and will bring mobile library services directly to participating PYLUSD schools throughout the 2026–27 school year.
The Placentia Library District Bookmobile serves as a mobile extension of the library, providing students with convenient access to many of the same resources, services, and educational support available at a traditional library location. By bringing these resources directly to school campuses, the partnership helps strengthen connections between schools and community resources while encouraging literacy, exploration, and lifelong learning.
During the school year, the Bookmobile will visit Brookhaven, Golden, Melrose, Morse, Ruby Drive, Sierra Vista, Topaz, Tynes, and Wagner elementary schools; Kraemer, Tuffree, and Valadez middle schools; El Camino Real, El Dorado, and Valencia high schools; and George Key School/Venture Academy.
Through this collaborative effort, PYLUSD and the Placentia Library District are creating additional opportunities for students to engage with books, educational materials, and library services within their own school communities. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to removing barriers to access and connecting students with resources that support academic growth, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for reading.
