Kevin Lacheno, a second grader at Melrose Elementary School, was recognized by Superintendent Doug Domene for being a finalist in the district’s “The Advantage” notecard contest. His winning artwork depicting collaboration was selected to represent the district’s core values, and was printed on stationary. Dr. Domene gave a special certificate and a set of notecards that showcased all the finalists from around PYLUSD to Kevin during a surprise visit.
