Valencia High School held its 34th annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Friday, May 27, at 10 a.m. in the school’s Memorial Garden.
Founded by longtime PYLUSD educator Harry Dolen, the event honored community members and VHS alumni who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.
The Valencia Tiger Regiment and the Valencia choir performed during the ceremony, and keynote speaker U.S. Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sergeant Norris C. Rushing (retired) gave a powerful message and a reminder to all that “freedom is not free.”
May we reflect upon this important truth not only this weekend, but every day.
