El Dorado High School holds fourth annual Veterans Day ceremony

On Friday, Nov. 11, El Dorado High School hosted its fourth annual Veterans Day ceremony at its Fallen Heroes Memorial on campus. The ceremony is supported by Placentia Boy Scout Troop 723 and Esperanza High School’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program.

The Fallen Heroes Memorial was constructed in 2013 as an Eagle Scout project by Andrew Binnings, a 2014 EDHS graduate. The Memorial honors the three El Dorado graduates who gave their lives in the global war on terror.

This year’s speakers included EDHS Principal Joey Davis, Placentia Police Chief Darin Lenyi, Col. J.R. Clearfield from Camp Pendleton, Purple Heart recipient Steven Kaustinen and U.S. Rep. Ed Royce.
