On Saturday, Jan. 23, El Dorado High School hosted an “AP Social Science Saturdaytastic” Saturday school session.
Students spent time in their respective AP European History, AP U.S. History or AP Government classes reviewing first semester content, and taking part in the exploration of ideas, discussions and activities. They then spent time in mixed groups engaging in peer mentoring, advice and assistance going through content review questions.
Students also got into some in-depth discussions, such as, “How do you balance your academic and extracurricular commitments?” “What strategies do you use when you are struggling with course content?” “How do you manage your stress?” and “What’s your best advice for success in your AP classes?”
It was a productive day, and a true pleasure to see the older students get so excited at the chance to provide support and expertise to underclassmen.
