Entrepreneurial students at Golden Elementary School created animal-friendly wallets made from duct tape, and sold them to their classmates, along with other beautiful hand-crafted items and creamologist-created root beer floats. As a reward for positive behavior in Mrs. McDonald’s and Mrs. Hanna’s fourth grade gifted and talented education (GATE) classes, students created businesses, manufactured products and, best of all, got to engage in real market economics during Scholar Store Day. Hard-earned Scholar Dollars were the currency of the day, and students learned that the work of running your own business is fun!
