Lakeview Kindergarten students use STEM methods to build houses for ‘three little pigs’

Students in Mrs. Thompson’s Kindergarten class at Lakeview Elementary School recently enjoyed building homes for the three little pigs to protect them from the big bad wolf.

In using the principles of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), the students acted as architects for the day creating homes for each of the three little pigs. The students were given found objects and little guidance in how to build the structures. The students had to problem solve and collaborate to build a structure that would not be blown down by the big bad wolf (a hairdryer).

Good work, little Lions!
