On Tuesday, June 12, El Camino Real High School (ECRHS) held its 2018 commencement ceremony in Bradford Stadium at Valencia High School. Following the 2017-18 school year, the school awarded 95 students with their high school diploma.

The ceremony included a long list of distinguished guests such as Board of Education President, Carol Downey, Vice President, Carrie Buck, Clerk, Eric Padget, and Trustee, Karin Freeman, as well as Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Superintendent, Dr. Greg Plutko, Assistant Superintendents, David Giordano and Kevin Lee, Directors, Carrie Bisgard, Dr. Eric Mooney, Rick Lopez, and Principal Gordon Chamberlin.

Graduate Makala Hearod delivered a speech filled with themes of perseverance and gratitude towards the unique environment El Camino Real offered as a continuation school. She also thanked the Raptors’ faculty and staff for their unwavering dedication to her and her fellow peers.

Of the 95 ECRHS graduates, many fall under Foster Youth Education Code and graduated opposed to high dropout statistics.  Congratulations, Raptors!
