Golden Elementary’s 6th annual Family Science Night soars!

Golden's science night.

On Thursday, January 17, several classrooms at Golden Elementary School were transformed to create a fun, science-inspired night for families. Kristi Cooan, a 6th grade GATE teacher, plays a large role in making this event happen each year.

Everywhere attendees turned that evening, eager students and their families were engaged in STEM activities and challenges. Stations were run by Golden teachers and there were several middle school and high school volunteers assisting with experiments.

The school’s 6th grade committee hosted a snack/bake sale complete with glow necklaces, coffee, and hot cocoa. According to staff, some of the highlights this year were the indoor planetarium, Valencia High School’s robotics demonstration, straw rockets, and the “Birds of Prey” presentation.

Way to go, Golden!

Golden's science night. Golden's science night. Golden's science night. Golden's science night. Golden's science night. Golden's science night.
