Rio Vista Elementary School in Anaheim continues to demonstrate the power of “change.” For the past 7 years, their school community has raised funds to support the efforts of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

“Every year, we are showered with countless stories of students and families giving of their personal treasures. This year was no different,” Principal Jose Cabrera said. “We are excited to announce that we raised a total of $7,052.09.”

Thanks to student series program partner Olive Garden, awards are presented to the classroom with the most funds raised during the three week campaign. Mrs. Bernhardt’s class will receive a catered lunch from Olive Garden. Pictured above is Mrs.Bernhardt’s 3rd grade classroom. This group of 3rd grade scholars raised a total of $688.50. This included a $200 family donation from 3rd grader Erin Liberatore.

“Rio Vista Scholar are “Champions of Change,” Cabrera ended.
