Ten students from Melrose Elementary School were selected to attend a special soccer camp during Spring Break. These students were selected as a result of their hard work maintaining positive behavior, respect, attendance, and school work.

The soccer camp was organized by OC GRIP and the Pure Game and they had special guest, Joy Fawcett, Women’s Soccer World Cup Champion and gold medal Olympic athlete. Fawcett joined the students to share about her experience and display her medals to the young soccer players.

OC GRIP is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that supports the initiatives of the GRIP (Gang Reduction Intervention Partnership) program in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office with the support of over 200 partners in 13 cities, including police departments, probation departments, and more than 100 private businesses and non-profit organizations.

Keep up the great work, Marlins!
