On March 20, the El Dorado High School Orchestra program, under the direction of Mr. Taylor Smith, presented the 1st Annual Orchestra SPOTLIGHT Dinner performance featuring solo, duet, and small ensemble performances by EDHS Orchestra students including special performances from Yorba Linda Middle School and Tuffree Middle School’s orchestra programs. The Sunday evening event was a true success with collaboration from the entire Placentia-Yorba Linda Community, including esteemed special guests and the Digital Media Arts Academy program. The delicious dinner was presented by Graziano’s Italian Restaurant and Cookie Element, both Yorba Linda local businesses.

During the event, the EDHS Orchestra was presented with a certificate of recognition from Chairman, Board of Supervisors, Fourth District of Orange County. Among the 160 attendees, special guests included PYLUSD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Elsasser, School Board Members Carrie Buck and Marilyn Anderson, Placentia Councilmember Ward Smith, Performing Arts Coordinator Phil Mortensen, and others.

“On behalf of the El Dorado “Friends of the Orchestra” Booster Board, we look forward to presenting SPOTLIGHT next year and welcoming you to have dinner with us while listening to these incredibly talented student musicians” Mr. Smith said.
