Valencia live-streams women’s softball World Cup

For the second year in a row, Valencia High School was invited to produce the live stream for the women’s “World Cup of Softball X.” Eight countries sent their national teams to Irvine, Calif., from June 28 to July 5, to compete.

Current and former Valencia students involved in the Val Tech program and video production classes live-streamed all 32 games of the World Cup 2015. Sue Sawyer and VHS alumni Bryan Escalante, Grant Bagne, Crystal Sayphraraj, Gloria Garcia, and Josh Garcia led a crew of current Tigers in producing the event. They received over 100,000 hits on the site, and used the latest in technology, including 4K cameras, a TriCaster and an old-fashioned work ethic.

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to use the skills developed in the classroom in a real-world situation. To view a video of their experience, click here. Go Tiger Tube!
