Rio Vista students and parents participate in STEM activities at AVID Family Night

Rio Vista Elementary School STEM Night.

On March 9, Rio Vista Elementary School hosted AVID STEM Family Night. Over 450 students and family members attended the event to participate in several STEM challenges.

The event was supported by students and staff from Valadez Middle School Academy and Valencia High School including teachers Lauren Hartshorne and Nicholas DeHaven from Valadez. They assisted by making the AVID Secondary program and STEM Career connections for Rio Vista families and students. Teams of students from all three schools served as AVID Ambassadors presenting their program binders to the community at the AVID Binder Walk.

Rio Vista is grateful to community members Stacie Rose, Yesenia Rangel, Donna Lopez, and Jennifer Marderosian for hosting a STEM Challenge Station and to its PTA for sponsoring and supporting the event before, during, and after!
