Third grade science has fun with snails at Rose Drive

From crayfish to snails – the fun and hands-on scientific learning in third grade simply does not stop! Having recently completed their unit on crayfish, Rose Drive Elementary School third graders are sliding on (excuse the snail reference) to learn all they possibly can about garden snails! Taking time to observe and monitor these fascinating creatures’ behaviors and characteristics, students are working in collaborative groups to document their findings. It is exciting to see how students have been successful in overcoming any fears they might have had as they handle these gentle creatures with care and respect. It turns out there is a lot more to snails than just slime and shells!
