Garth Brooks visits El Dorado, helps underprivileged kids

On Saturday, Sept. 17, El Dorado High School hosted a sports camp for underprivileged kids from Orange and Los Angeles counties. The camp, underwritten by Garth Brooks’ foundation Teammates for Kids, provided a free breakfast and lunch for over 85 kids, as well as three hours of baseball and hockey instruction. Joining Garth at El Dorado were Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Andrew Heaney.

Since its inception in 1999, Teammates for Kids has raised over $100 million to help children in over 60 countries around the world. Garth Brooks is a country music superstar who was voted “Artist of the Decade” for the 1990s by the Academy of Country Music Awards. He is featured in the middle of this picture, flanked by Cam Fowler and Andrew Heaney.
