Tynes Elementary Science Olympiad team brings home the gold!

John O. Tynes Science Olympiad students after winning their gold medals.

An amazing group of 24 young scientists from John O. Tynes Elementary School recently competed in the 2017 Orange County Elementary Science Olympiad.

With assistance from supportive parents, two teams of fourth, fifth, and sixth graders from Ms. Benner, Mrs. Frederick, and Mrs. Souto’s classes worked diligently over the past few months preparing for the competition.

After collaboratively competing in the categories of Anatomy Knowledge, Disease Detectives, Write It, Do It, Can Races, Tennis Ball Catapults, Crime Busters, Weather Knowledge, Mission Possible Rube Goldberg Energy Device, Starry, Starry Night, and Straw Towers, the teams of talented students earned gold medals!

Congratulations, Tynes Tigers!
