At Valencia High School (VHS), one of the many advantages for students in the AVID program is their opportunity to tour college campuses with their peers. Every AVID student at VHS visits two colleges each year, making it possible to tour eight different universities by the time they graduate!
In October, AVID seniors visited University of California, Riverside, and in November, AVID juniors attended California State University, San Bernardino, AVID sophomores visited University of California Irvine, and AVID freshmen toured California State University, Dominguez Hills. In the Spring, all AVID students will once again get to visit another set of colleges and universities.
This opportunity remains so important for Valencia’s AVID students, because for most, it is the only chance they get to experience a college campus tour.
