Valencia welcomes educators from Australia for first AVID Demonstration Visit

Valencia's first AVID demo visit.

On December 14, Valencia High School (VHS) completed their first AVID Demonstration Visit with a visiting team from Marsden State High School located in Waterford West, Queensland, Australia!

During their visit, the team toured Valencia’s campus and observed an array of course instruction in the classrooms of teachers Corinna Harnett, Chris Henry, Gerardo Rodriguez, Ruoc Le, Lauren Thayer, Joe Secoda, David Quintero, Alyson Dixon, Sam Kuchwara, Yesenia Castillo, Leina Rizzo, David Chung, and Katie Black-Knyazik.

Before their departure, the visiting team shared with VHS principal, Olivia Yaung, that they could feel a strong sense of culture and staff morale throughout campus.  In the classroom, they were also incredibly impressed by the level of rigor, student ownership of learning, and growth mindset that the Tigers embraced.
