Holiday boutique at Valadez Middle School Academy takes payment in the form of respect, responsibility, and kindness

Valadez Middle School's holiday boutique.

On Tuesday, December 19, Valadez Middle School Academy’s annual holiday boutique opened its doors to a long line of very excited student shoppers.  The boutique lasts all week leading up to Winter Recess.

The “store” was supplied with donated items from staff, as well as items received from a grant given by JOANN Fabric in Placentia. Some of the most popular items included slime, nail polish, and home decorations.

Items were purchased using PRIDE tickets earned since the start of the school year for showing respect, responsibility, and kindness. Most items were affordably priced between two and fifteen PRIDE cards.  As an added bonus, students could also wrap these gifts for their family members before they left.

“The holiday boutique was a wonderful way to provide a high demand PBIS incentive while getting Valadez students in the spirit of giving,” shared principal, James Hardin.

Leslie Poling, the school’s ASB Director, spearheaded the holiday boutique.
