On the evening of Tuesday, February 27, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Special Education Department in collaboration with the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) held their Annual Transition and Resource Fair for special education students and their families.
The fair aims to provide information about the local programs and services that are available to students with disabilities. This year’s event brought together representatives from community services and agencies including, but not limited to, Orange County Goodwill Industries, Department of Rehabilitation, Special Olympics, and PYLUSD Venture Academy Representatives.
The representatives shared information regarding higher education, job training, employment, day programs, living options, and health services to students and adult transition students with disabilities. Students and their families had the opportunity to talk with agency representatives, pick up informational brochures, and get their questions answered as they consider their plan for transitioning from school to adulthood, as well as learned about various community resources available to students with special needs.
