On Wednesday, March 21, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD), in partnership with the Yorba Linda and Placentia Chambers of Commerce, held its annual “Principal for a Day” event. Community members and local business representatives were selected by the Chambers to tour a specific school in the District in the morning, and then meet back at the District office for a special luncheon.
Not only did guest principals have the opportunity to obtain an insider’s view of PYLUSD school sites, they also got to learn about the many duties of a principal. Many of them gave the morning announcements, toured various classes, and had the chance to connect with students along the way. The experience also provided an opportunity for the District to demonstrate what makes their schools so special like students, teachers, facilities, technology, and community support.
The Principal for a Day event aligns with the “PYLUSD Advantage” Focus Area 3.0, Engaged Community, which states, “we establish a culture which encourages positive relationships among our students, staff, and parents as well as educational, business, and community partners.”
We are very grateful for the continued support of our engaged community!
