On December 1, the Parkview School Speech and Debate team participated in their first tournament, the Heideman Winter Invitational in Tustin. The team did an amazing job with six competitors earning numerous awards!
“We are very proud of Benjamin Reichenthal for challenging himself and competing in Storytelling even though had joined the team late and had only been to a few practices,” shared principal, James Hardin.
Student Gabriella Mercado competed in Declamation and Impromptu, taking home a finalist medal in Impromptu. Kayla Seo competed in Impromptu and Original Narrative, taking home a finalist medal in Impromptu and placed 1st in Original Narrative. Alyssa Varela also had an impressive outing by taking home a 5th place trophy in Impromptu, and placing 2nd in Storytelling. Team captain Nathan Guerrero competed in SPAR debate and placed 5th in the event. Kayla Bermudez-Kim also competed in SPAR debate and took home a finalist medal.
