Valencia High CyberPatriots compete in California Mayor’s Cup

CyberPatriots from VHS.

The weekend of February 23-24, Valencia High School sent three volunteers from their CyberPatriot team to compete in the California Mayor’s Cup 2nd annual cyber competition.

The competition consists of numerous cyber scenarios involving digital forensics, security policies, malware, and social engineering to name a few. Each scenario has a point value and a “flag’ that they must submit to a scoring server. The team with the highest point totals, and flag count, wins!
Teams consist of 6 players and each team has 4 hours to complete this particular challenge.

The Valencia team of three finished in the top ten at their competition site, which was Troy High School in Fullerton. Way to go, CyberPatriots!
