The El Dorado Golden Hawks recently held their “What if…? Week” on campus. Each year, this week aims to promote the themes of caring and kindness to students, staff, and community members. Here is a breakdown of what the week included:
Tuesday
Theme: What if everyone received a compliment?
Students were able to write compliments to one another to post on the school’s “Spirit Over Status” wall. This wall was designed to remind all that spirit is more important than status, and positive culture is the combination of many small gestures.
Wednesday
Activity: Assembly with guest speaker Houston Kraft
Houston Kraft, a widely popular inspirational speaker reminded the Golden Hawks to make kindness normal, to choose love, and to work at being kind because nice is easy.
Thursday
Theme: What if everyone shared kindness?
The school’s ASB had free balloons for anyone and a school-wide sheet asking for our students to share what, “Love is…?”
Friday
What if everyone had school pride?
According to Activities Director, Eron Campuzano, this was “basically the coolest day of the year.” Lunchtime was turned into a carnival with ping pong, four square, basketball, a DJ, volleyball, and more.
“It’s a wonderful week and we are thankful that we get to share in it together,” Campuzano ended.
