When preparing your Thanksgiving feast, add a touch of “Cézanne” to taste. Mrs. Parmenter’s first graders at Rose Drive Elementary School did just this as they eagerly completed their own Paul Cézanne still-life Thanksgiving-themed paintings in time for their holiday feasts. What a creative, memorable and lasting way to apply this famous artist’s techniques.
In another activity, students implemented their CGI (Cognitively Guided Instruction, or, perhaps more applicable in this case, Corn Grain Instruction) math skills to complete a kernel-counting activity on not just one but two ears of corn!
