On Sunday, October 20, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District leaders attended the Coast to Coast Foundation’s annual fundraiser event. The non-profit’s mission is to provide services that continually make a difference in the homeless community while bridging the gap in support for homeless children to succeed in school.
Carrie Bisgard, Director of Instructional Support, Carey Aiello, Principal at El Camino Real High School, Carolyn Douglas, Counselor at Valencia High School, and Diana McKibben, Principal at Ruby Drive Elementary School were all in attendance that evening. The organization’s founder, Marie Avina, invited District leaders to share about the impact that the Coast to Coast Scholarship program has on PYLUSD students and families.
Each PYLUSD representative expressed sincere gratitude, and emphasized the value of such collaborative efforts and the need to provide families with basic necessities.
Notably, all proceeds from the event including admission fees, silent and live auctions, and cash donations will benefit students and families in PYLUSD. Special thanks to the District’s McKinney Vento Liason, Jon Matson, who works tirelessly with Coast to Coast each year to help as many families as possible.
Anyone interested in donating or volunteering during the upcoming holiday season is encouraged to reach out to the Coast to Coast Foundation.
