On Thursday, January 16, the Linda Vista Elementary School community came together for their annual Family Science Night. This tradition serves as a wonderful opportunity for students and families to gain new knowledge about the world around them. Many families enjoyed participating in hands-on activities that included foil boats, mystery architecture, straw bridges, and penny drops.
Leading up to the event, Linda Vista students were invited to participate in the school’s Science Fair where they could share an experiment, demonstration, or invention.
“The curiosity, creativity, and passion for learning was evident in the work that students produced,” Principal Kristen Petrovacki shared.
Linda Vista’s Family Science Night also incorporated technology and engineering. GATE students showed off their coding skills by programming robots to complete various tasks. They also shared their special units of study on ecosystems and conservation for attendees to enjoy.
“We are so thankful for our various community partners that include Esperanza’s Medical Science Academy, AFJROTC, and Video Production crew who all highlighted their unique programs,” Principal Petrovacki noted.
Additionally, the night included guest experts from the aerospace industry that enthusiastically shared information about their careers. All in all, the evening at Linda Vista Elementary School was filled with inquiring minds, innovation, inspiration!
