Valencia High School’s new Coffee Crew spreads joy across campus while helping students gain communication skills

Valencia High School’s Coffee Crew is serving coffee on Monday and Wednesday mornings across campus. What started as an idea to increase communication skills through vocational activities in  Mrs. Sarah Belsey’s class has developed into a morning that students and staff look forward to each week.

Coffee Crew has their very own logo-branded aprons made by Graphic Design teacher, Mr. Brian Johnson, loyalty cards, and a homemade coffee cart. Sales have increased from 10 coffees per week to 100 coffees per week! Students practice greeting customers, taking orders, and even make special deliveries. 

Mrs. Belsey and speech pathologist Jeanette Laakso envisioned this activity for students about three years ago and are very proud of their students. Way to go, Tigers!
